BRINGING CLARITY TO LIFE

One of the myths of coaching is that coaching is only for those who are not being successful, who lack a sense of purpose or who are unproductive. Nothing could be further from the truth! Driven and successful people want to ensure that they have every possibility to pursue and reach the next level.

People who already have great relationships, are physically fit, have great time management skills, are great leaders at work and productive at sales; all know how important it is to continue to maintain and even improve such gifts in life. Many people and organizations do not even notice that they are or have slid into a rut and have gotten stuck. One day you simply wake up and realize that by doing the same things over and over again you are being unproductive. Maybe you even notice that you have started to become counter-productive.

The cause of our being stuck could be the result of chronic stress, anxiety and burnout (exhaustion). The good news is that you or your organization do not have to stay in this state of being stuck! Maybe you are telling yourself right now that you do not have the energy to move forward. As your coach, I will help you uncover the untapped energy you need to move yourself or your company forward!

John C. Maxwell said, “Change is inevitable, Growth is optional.” Whether you want change in your life or business or not, the truth is that change is happening all the time all around you, and no one can stop it or prevent it! There are many questions that arise around change that need to be asked and answered with regard to change.

There are also many questions that need to be asked and answered with regard to change that doesn't just arise or even show up as a blimp on the radar. Uncovering and answering obvious and hidden questions with regard to change and determining the methods and techniques that you want to embrace to help facilitate change is what I will assist you in doing as a coach!

However, perhaps two of the most important questions to ask right now are:

1) If change is going to happen because I cannot stop it, shouldn’t I embrace the change in a way that it will benefit me the most?

2) If there was a bomb called “change” about to explode in my organization, wouldn’t I want to be the one who determines when, how, and where it was going to be detonated and who it would affect and what impact it would have on my company?

There are at least four kinds of people in this world. There are visionaries. There are implementers of ideas. There are those who are finishers. Thank goodness you are not the fourth, which is someone who lacks all of the previous three!

It sounds like you are someone who is among the first kind of people I mentioned. It is normal for some who are visionaries to need people around them who can see clearly the steps necessary to implement and finish the vision! Until this can occur, a coach can assist you in moving forward from idea, vision or dream to see clearly the steps needed toward bringing such things to fruition. Let’s get started together!

Thomas Edison is said to have failed over 1,000 times before successfully inventing the lightbulb. When a reporter asked Edison about his 1000+ failures he said, and I paraphrase "I didn’t fail over 1,000 times. The invention of the lightbulb was a 1,000 step process." WD-40, that wonderful water displacement spray that helps loosen rusted bolts, took 40 attempts to get it right! The most successful, productive, highest achieving people will inevitably meet failure face-to-face. Once failure shows its face in your life, it begins showing up consistently, multiple times each day.

At the end of the day, would you like to have a sense of accomplishment knowing that you laid it all out there and are on good terms with the things that didn’t go as you planned or are yet to be done? Prioritizing, organizing and developing a realistic action plan is only part of the process. As your coach, I can certainly assist you in the development or prioritizing and planning.

Just as important, together we can get to the deep rootedness of failure because you are a successful, productive person who is already accomplishing great things. Let’s get started and soon you will be slapping failure in its face whenever it shows up!

Coaching is valuable for assisting individuals to better their relationships, in finding a balance in life, in time management, in reducing stress and improving health. In addition, coaching can assist professionals in developing as stronger effective leaders, the management of people, company goal setting and much more. At times, a person/family or a company is one crucial decision away from moving from floundering to flourishing! Individuals will often ask the opinion of their friends or relatives. This can often prove to be good advice. It can often be disastrous too, because friends and family may be too emotionally, financially or otherwise connected to the situation.

Companies will often look at what another company has done in a similar situation or will hire a consultant to give you their opinion. This could be good too, but do you really want someone else telling you what you should do with something this important? A good coach will help facilitate a conversation of inquisitive and empowering questions to assist you in digging deeper within yourself to figure out what you believe you need to do. After all, it is your life, it is your company and you should own it! Whatever you decide, as your coach, I only want you to succeed. If you are an individual seeking these things out of life, you are already miles ahead of others. Even before becoming a Certified Professional Coach, I spent the majority of my life with people seeking such things for themselves. It is my own life’s purpose to walk alongside others who are looking for purpose, hope, meaning and joy in their own lives and to assist them in discovering it for themselves!

We are also seeing a resurgence of people who are just now entering the workforce as career professionals who are more concerned with meaning and purpose in the workplace than the size of their paycheck. Yes, they want to get paid! They are simply looking for a vocation that gives their life meaning and purpose above all else. So, if your company doesn’t have meaning, purpose and bring joy to your employee's lives, you will miss a lot of good solid people entering the workforce!

Two other interesting facts:

1) Someone’s job/career is not necessarily as meaningful as how they are able to live into their passion while on the job.

2) Those who have purpose, hope, meaning and joy in their lives actually live longer and are more productive! Welcome to the beginning of a longer and more productive life for you and/or your company!

All who seek coaching credentials have a requirement to have received a certain amount of Mentor Coaching. In addition, some may simply desire to improve their coaching skills. Mentor coaching is designed to assist current coaches or those seeking coaching credentials in a collaborative effort to enhance their coaching skills. Mentor Coaching can be provided through a one on one coaching session with a Mentor Coach or by observation. Observation could occur through personal observation of a coaching session or through viewing a recording. Observation and feedback to enhance the coaches skills and core competency awareness are the goal of Mentor Coaching.
